The fuzzy blue object in this image is a star surrounded by a nebula. The color is caused by dust in the nebula scattering the starΓÇÖs light. The reddish object below it is an emission nebula that surrounds young stars.
The detail in this cluster is astonishing, given that it is not even in our own galaxy, but in the Large Magellanic Cloud about 160,000 light years away.
